Snow Halt Air Business in UK
February 4th, 2009 admin
Last Monday London Heathrow Airport, the world’s busiest international airport, had to close both runways as snow landed heavily on the UK. According to the report Heathrow and three other commercial airports in London warned of severe delays and flight cancellations. Due to heavy snow bus and train services were also suspended whilst risky conditions in southern and central England brought major air, rail and road transport systems to a halt. At Heathrow extra 250 flights were cancelled and a further 1,000 were delayed. On the other hand, the UK Meteorological Office has warned of further snow and bad weather, with freezing winds blowing in from Russia. The airports officials said, due to snow, they have to pay much damage in this sector.
