car 300x225 Japan Seeks Lower Duties on Cars After long discussion Japanese Foreign Minister Hirofumi Nakasone and his Peruvian counterpart, Jose Antonio Garcia Belaunde, have reached to hold talks on a bilateral trade accord between two countries. Japan is expected to seek lower duties on various cars sold to Peru; whereas it is expected Peru will push for better access to Japan’s farm and fisheries markets.

More to the point, Peru has the largest Japanese population outside of Japan. These relations are being patched up after Japan refused to extradite former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori. Fujimori fled to Japan in 2000 at the same time as embroiled in a corruption scandal. He was later arrested in Chile while trying to engineer a political comeback. Currently he is in prison. Many think, this agreement make better impact between two countries commerce and trade.

Russia and China Sign $25 billion Oil Deal

Russia and China signed a $25 billion biggest ever power deal in Beijing on Tuesday that will see China protected oil supplies from Russia for the next 20 years in return for loans.
Russia’s state oil champion Rosneft and pipeline monopoly Transneft signed a long-delayed deal to borrow the money from China Development Bank during talks in Beijing.
The agreement will see Siberian oil going to China. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin told state news channel that,

“We agreed on supplies of 15 million tonnes of oil every year over a period of 20 years.”

The company Transneft would receive $10 billion of the loan and Rosneft the other $15 billion and, in return, will receive 300,000 barrels of oil a day for 20 years. Transneft Vice-President Mikhail Barkov told Reuters,

“The maturity is around 20 years and this credit is linked to supplies. It is a historic event and the start of a big journey.”

China and Japan, two major importers of oil which are measured as key markets for Russia’s East Siberian oilfields. And it is predictable that, after this new agreement the bond between Russia and china will be more tied. Moreover, in recent years China has turned to Russia and some of its former satellites for oil partnerships.

UAE Takes Step for Banking Sector

dubai towers1 238x300 UAE Takes Step for Banking SectorThe UAE Government announced on Wednesday that it is going to implement a special action plan under which it will inject 4.36 billion dollars extra capital into the following financial institutions in the state. The institutions are National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, First Gulf Bank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, and Union National Bank. The recent step is aimed at strengthening confidence in the financial sector which has been shaken as a result of the global financial crisis.

The UAE Government said that it would purchase bonds with no maturity date from five banks as a precautionary step to boost confidence into the UAE banking sector. It is recalled that November 2008 Barclays announced plans to lift 11.8 billion dollars, by selling shares to Abu Dhabi and Qatar as a means of meeting the new capital requirements imposed by the UK government on banks which were looking for government support. Under the plan announced by Barclays Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al-Nahyan would own up to 16% of Barclays. Zayed al-Nahyan is a member of the royal family of Abu Dhabi and chairman of the International Petroleum Investment Company.

Snow Halt Air Business in UK

Last Monday London Heathrow Airport, the world’s busiest international airport, had to close both runways as snow landed heavily on the UK. According to the report Heathrow and three other commercial airports in London warned of severe delays and flight cancellations. Due to heavy snow bus and train services were also suspended whilst risky conditions in southern and central England brought major air, rail and road transport systems to a halt. At Heathrow extra 250 flights were cancelled and a further 1,000 were delayed. On the other hand, the UK Meteorological Office has warned of further snow and bad weather, with freezing winds blowing in from Russia. The airports officials said, due to snow, they have to pay much damage in this sector.
